Bachelorette on the Loose! (a.k.a. Weekend at Bernie's)

OMGoooooodness gracious great balls of fire (I use to lu-uve that song)!!!!  I have been soooooooo crazyyyyyyy busy that I have neglected my poor sweet little blog.  Not only am I planning my dream wedding, but my fiance is building his own business (http://www.westripe.com/), friends are getting engaged, married and pregnant left and right, and there are too many other drama factors to mention (ugh) - but seriously, my life has never been this hectic, ever! Well, except when I was in middle school and I was trying to juggle soccer, softball, barbies (yes in middle school.... I had no siblings people!!!!), comic books, and my biggest concern was the newest colored bands to pick out for my braces! PS....How excited were you when the upper pallete retainer came out with GLITTER in it???!! Score!  I'm getting off topic here....

The point is...my bachelorette party was June 3-5 in Charleston (my fave!!) and I had the BEST time and have the bestest bridesmaids ever!!!!!!!!!  Truly a grand time had by all.  And if you were not there to witness my dance moves, well, then I feel sorry for you.  I mean, I had at least two people ask me where I got a couple of my moves and a few people that gave me the "Wow...that is talent" look.....either that or "wow bachelorette on the loose, someone get her out of here before she hurts herself".

I'm getting ahead of myself.  I started out the weekend going to see "Bridesmaids" with Courtney and Rachel.  Are you kidddddinnnngggggg meeeee. I laughed from the very first opening scene all the way to the closing credits.  HIGHlarious.  That is the funniest laugh out loud movie I have seen since Dumb and Dumber.  I can't wait to buy it!!!!!!  If I had been drinking milk it would have come out my nose (I always liked that mental picture, but it's never happened to me.  I think I'll go back and see the movie and drink some milk).  Anywho, after we were done cackling we headed home to rest up for the big weekend extravaganza.

On Friday, we had lunch at Fleet Landing (that place is sooooo yuuummmy and the food is pure southern cuisine along with the killer atmosphere right on the water).  We strolled through the Market and I pointed out three things I could make for my wedding and almost bought a beautiful coral necklace that now thinking about it makes me regret not purchasing it.....arg.  We then headed to the house that we rented and set up the party time!!!  My girlfriends were soon all there and it was time for lingerie!!!!!! (I wish I could have sneaked in the house when I got home without J spying the VS bags but it was kind of obvious :).  We played a few games (if you know me I LOVE GAMES) and then the party started with a little flip cup. SO FUN!!!!!  I'll stop there lol.

The next day we headed to OUR YACHT :) and layed out and drank mimosas and it was so great to see a couple of other girls that joined us!!! It was so calming and relaxing and so wonderful to catch up with all my best girlfriends and talk and laugh!  Loved it!!!  Afterwards, we headed home for a little more flipcup while getting ready and headed to O-Ku for supper. I love sushi so much and this place had great sushi, great drinks, and great ambience.  Then out and about we went, barhopping and dancing the night away at Henry's, Mad River, and....I don't even know where we ended up - IT WAS PERFECT! The Dare game was a fun factor and I hope I didn't annoy toooooo many people with my fluffy pink boa.  I vaguely remember tossing it around and being what I thought was..cute :)

The pictures were fabulous and really captured the essence of the night. Let's go through a few of them.

Here's how the night started out....very tasteful, if I say so myself:

Dinner!!

Here's where it got interesting.  Leslie has that effect on me ;)

Here is where the boa became a little fun for me (sorry Kat).

Hahahaha you think you can out dance me???

I do nawt think so. Let me show you a little something:

  = Nope.

Above, as you can see, I am also trying out a new dance hairdo created by my bridesmaid, Ashley Weatherford, it really helps with ease of movement and clear vision.  Try it, I highly recommend it.

And here, of course, I am scouting the dance floor for my next victim, errrr, dance partner.....

And they all danced happily ever after into the night.  Don't stop believin'.  Hold onto that feeling.

Til next time folks (won't be as long, I promise!)  I tried on my wedding dress for the first time today....eeeeeeeks.....that's to come!! :)

We Should Shave Lightening Bolts On Her Sides

LIFE LESSON #345: Never, I repeat, NEVER let your boyfriend/fiance/hubby give your dog a "trim".  I knew this was a bad idea from the get-go, but I felt really bad for Bella as she was panting while sitting on the couch.   OK, you should probably also know that our A/C went out for like a week - but it was the cool week we had and with the windows open, it turned out not to be that bad...ugh it was gross for a few days though.  Anywho, back to Bella.  As you can see from the picture (if you haven't already had the pleasure of making her aquaintance) she is a long-haired chi and the last time I took Bella to get her summer haircut she came back looking like a Bert instead of a Bella.  She looked like a boy and I was not pleased - I couldn't even put bows in her hair to help make her look more girly because it was so short and she looked like a dude in a dress - it just wasn't right on all levels.  But I had to do something and quick.  It was so bad she would mosey on outside to potty and come back in panting and plop down on the cool tile floor in the kitchen just looking up at me like please mommy I dont mind the dude cut, I'm so hotttt.  So, as you can see, when Jason suggested a quick trim it actually sounded like a good solution...at the time.

Let me repeat - never let your man get near your dog with any sort of shearing, cutting, trimming tool of any kind.  So, Jason charges up his beard trimmer - oh yeah - and prepares to give his daughter what he thinks is the best gift ever.  Mind you, I was not around while he was doing this - lucky for him, not for Bella.  I leave for the grocery store and Jason takes Bella outside and trims her real good (his words not mine).  I come home, not knowing the horrible sight I would walk in on, and put the groceries up and look down at my poor dog.  It was a sad, sad sight.  Not only did she look like a boy again (!$#*$Y@*) but she had patches - oh yes - patches of hair missing, her ears were hairless and her butt was bare. Like one of those baboons you see with the blue bare butts (gross).  Yes, she looked like a homeless little pathetic boy puppy that got in a fight with a pair of shears and lost.  You could tell she was so mad and hated it so much.  I don't think she even looked at him for days.  She already has sensitive skin and the close-cut "skin trim" did not help.  Now she was still hot, and ugly and itchy on top of it!!  Jason tried to convince me that she was so much happier and cooler with the new sporty summer 'do, but I just picked her up and promised her that I would never let Daddy do that to her again.  I would upload a picture, but Boofy would never forgive me.

It's growing back now (in patches) and she is starting to look like normal again - thank goodness she was blessed with fast-growing hair genes!  And a killer coat.  From now on, she will be the proud owner of a professionally groomed "trim" each month in the summer time. Plus, she'll smell fabulous and get a free neckerchief to sport!! She loves accessories.

It's all my fault - I should have known better when Jason said to me when he first met Bella, "we should shave lightening bolts on her sides to make her look faster".

Another lesson learned!

"That Dog Will Hunt" & Other Old Neglected Sayings...

Does anyone else almost wreck in their car because you're writing down notes on a receipt or making a list on a crumpled Wendy's napkin?  I have been so busy lately that jotting down a wedding song or to-do list at a stop light is about the only time I have to get my thoughts together and get it out of my head.  I have also been known to wake up in the middle of the night, find a tablet and go to town.  Sleep is much better and peaceful that way.  My random reminders on my phone go off frequently too; do I really need an alarm to go off on my phone in the middle of the day to remind me to go to the bank, run by A.C. Moore, pick up dry cleaning, get the pups' dog food, go to the bathroom, eat lunch, ....the answer is yes, unfortunately.  I have actually made myself a reminder before to remind Jason to take out the trash - it goes off every Thursday :).  I must be crazy.....OR really really incredibly genius :)

Some say it's because I'm getting older or I've got too much going on or I'm just off my rocker?  But my theory is that it is NAWT that I'm getting older...I don't care what my brother Jacob says.  I do know that I was born to be an older sister and know I will be a rockin' Mom.  I was just talking to my younger brother (only by 3 years) the other day and I said to him, "Well, that's a fine how do ya do!" WHAT? I don't even know what that means, but it just came out and it worked, I think, in the context.  I have caught myself saying things like that all the time.  "Why I oughtaaa" (while waving your fists around with your chin up in the air and your feet scuffling around like a 1902 silent film actor) is another favorite. I like referring to things as the "bee's knees" or the "cat's whiskers"  too.  You can take those, they're fun to say.

The best way to discover which road you're headed towards at the "grandma/grandpa" or "still hip" crossroads is to watch MTV (like for more than 5 minutes) or to hang out with a 15 year old and try not to panic.  Yes, it's embarrasing.  You try to use all your cool slang terms like "hip" (which I said earlier - Sara fail) or "bogus"  or "drats"or referencing Saved by the Bell, Full House or Family Matters for any reason.  Even "boo-yow" is a no-no.  I know it's hard and it hurts...deeply. But I offer some sound advice, stay with me, get a notepad, or a napkin. Whenever you're caught in a conversation with a tweener and you can't get away (unless it's your child, of course - that may even still apply here) Just laugh, nod and walk away, quickly. That advice works with a lot of situations, like when a co-worker approaches you, your Mom, a sales person that won't quit, a frenemy, an enemy, a friend, a bum, etc. You get the idea.

Here are some more old southern sayings that I love:

-He has enough money to burn a wet mule.

-That is to much pumpkin for a nickel.

-If ifs' and buts' were candy and nuts, everyday would be Christmas

-Root hog or die

-That dog will hunt

-He ain't got a pot to pee in

And my personal favorite:

-If I put his brain in a nat's butt, it would fly backwards

Good night y'all!!!

Baby Pool Party and other fun weekend escapades!

And anotha' one!

Ahhh yesss another jam-packed weekend full of fun parties and exciting wedding stuff! We'll start with Thursday though.  I just have to mention the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel VIP opening that Jason and I attended Thursday night.  It was so great to see such a fun, family-friendly place packed with so many people that want great things for the Grand Strand! I hope everyone will go check it out and ride the wheel and partake in the new Jimmy Buffet restaurant, LandShark Bar & Grille, located right next to/underneath it.  It's right smack on the ocean and even if you're too cowardly to take a ride at least sit on their patio, grab a tropical cocktail (the strawberry margarita is yummy!) and enjoy the ocean view!!

On Saturday, I enjoyed a nice day on the beach with my cuz, Taylor Ann and my Aunt Sabrina - much needed!  Then the party marathon began!  Our sweet niece, Lillian, turned 1 - and her party was Saturdee afternoon.  It was a baby pool party. Yes, a babyyyyy pooooool parttyyyyy. There were babies galore and let me tell you - Jason and I were a little overwhelmed!  They were everywhere.  There was a bouncy blow-up machine thingy with little ones jumping around screaming and for a moment I felt like Reese Witherspoon in "Four Christmases" and started chuckling to myself, just picturing myself in there with the kids and me freaking out!!

Well, needless to say, we survived the kiddie circus and quickly scurried home for a 20 minute cat-nap before heading to Chris and Ferris' engagement party!!  Such a fun night!! I have to say the highlight of my evening was watching Landon and Jake run around, their 1 and 3 yr. old nephews....wait, what??...maybe the baby party rubbed off on me a little.....did I mention we made it a late night at Revo's following the party??!! Wow, my dancing skills are still delightful - I've still got it! Oh yeah.

On Sunday, I went over to my sweet Mom's house to help her finish up the invitations, I had no idea they would be so in depth and take so long to get out! My caligraphist (Ma) worked so hard on them and we finished up the final touches, with a gorgeous seal - I only burned my finger twice with the wax! I am so pleased with them and can't wait for folks to get them!  Sandra is for hire, FYI, and you will see that her handwriting is GORGE!  Message me for her number ;)

Happy Work Week friends!!

Love,
Sara Bernice

Omg. Shoes.

I just want to say thank you Lord for the many blessings in my life.  I have so much to be thankful for: my loving family, my fabulous friends, my wonderful HTB (hubby-to-be), my three furry babies ---- and my Badgley Mischka wedding shoes :)

OH snap!!!!!

I am beyond in love with these shoes. They make me feel delicate and dainty and fabulous and I can't WAIT to sleep in them (side note: I used to sleep in my new shoes when I was younger - my passion for glamorous new shoes started at a young age) and shimmy down the aisle in them. I'm just saying, these shoes will not want to come off my feet! Ah LOVE! I will need a special place in my Sex and the City closet that Big...er..Jason is going to build me some day!

On another note, my bachelorette partay is in two weeks!!!! I can't wait to spend some QT with my girls for a whole weekend - I don't even think we have all spent a weekend together in years!!! It is going to be epic to say the least!  I need to start looking for more cute dresses immediately, if not sooner!  I mean, am I the only girl that knows that there's a dress to go with each and every occassion/event?!  I can't wear my Sunday dress to a bachelorette party or my straight-to-business wrap dress to a baby shower - GASP!

Ugh! I just have to say that I miss Bethenny Ever After.  She made me feel sane and cracked me up.  Good thing I have her on DVR for life :)  I also have her book to lull me to sleep, A Place of YES - 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life - it is excellent and that is saying a lot because I don't hold interest in books for very long, if they're lame-oh.

I am also reading Go Put Your Strengths to Work by Marcus Buckingham.  It is equally as interesting and reveals ways to achieve outstanding personal performance by identifying and taking advantage of you strongest attributes.  I highly recommend it (thanks Eileen Soisson of The Meeting Institute!).  It even has a quiz inside that you can take online to test your strengths. Fun! I love quizzes.

Speaking of strengths, my weakness right now seems to be sleeping.  I think I'll tackle that one now....G'night!!

Love & Shoes,
Sara Bernice :)

Spring (more like Dive Head First) into Spring!

Is it mid-May alreadyyyy???? Sheesh!  So...I sort of got side-tracked and distracted from this blogging thing - I'll do better I promise! A lot has happened in the past almost two months and I am t-i-r-e-d.  More wedding planning, baby showers, birthdays, kickball tournaments, bootcamps, dragon boat races, and bridal showers than I can almost handle and many many more fun events to come!  As excited as I am for what the next three months will bring, I can't help but feel more and more anxious and stressed (a good stress) as we goet closer to August!  Being a control freak and extreme worrier does not help the planning process either! Actually it doesn't help anything. Ever.

In April, my amazing BM's threw me the most beautiful Bridal Shower - it was Breakfast at Tiffany's themed - which I LOVE!!! Audrey Hepburn is one of my idols along with Cinderella, Bethenny Frankel, and Lil' Bit (what?... she's been through a lot!).  My girlfiriends put so much thought and effort into the day and I am so lucky to have such great friends and family who care enough to make such a special time in my life even more special!!!!  From the tiffany boxes, to the flowers and decor, to the food and cupcakes, the story they wrote and the gorgeous Tiffany vase they all got me - I can't believe how wonderful it turned out! :) Thanks again girlz <3

This past Friday, I graduated from Leadership Grand Strand!!! Woo hoo!  LGS is a nine-month leadership and philanthropy program; the MB Chamber selects folks from all different ages and professional backgrounds to come together and learn more about the Grand Strand and local community service, and promotes and encourages future leaders in the area.  I had the absolute honor to be in Class 31 (Thirty-FUN) with some of the most respectable and kind-hearted people I have ever met.  It was truly an honor to stand with them on graduation night. They mean the world to me!

And who didn't watch the Royal Wedding - I took notes.  I mean it's not every day you get married the same year as royalty.  It is kind of funny because my Mom always thought it was so cool that I was born the same year as Prince William (and I think she secretly thought I would be Kate -- dream big Mom!) and now we are getting married the same year! I am sure if PW knew me or Jason, he would be honored as well.  Maybe they'll push back their Honeymoon a few months and we'll meet up with them in Hawaii.....it could happen.

So much more to write and so much more going on, but I have to vaccuum and then change clothes to go fishing with my fiance.  Yep.  Fishing rocks and you should try it.  J is completely obsessed with fishing lately.  He has recently purchased a basket and other gear/attachments for his bike - not for the dogs, not for a sweet romantic bottle of wine or picnic basket, but rather, for...his tackle box and fishing crap.  He just ran to Bass Pro to get more bait and other stuff I can't pronounce and don't care about :) Oh, I love him and I enjoy fishing too so it works just like everything else about us. Yay for soulmates.

Til next time my friends.
Good afternoon, good evening and good night.

Yellow Traveling Sneeze Machine

It was quite an eventful couple of days in the world of mother nature this past weekend (not to mention the past month), but I am talking Springtime~!

But, I do want to take a moment and say God bless those in Japan that are suffering and peace be with everyone who has been affected. I am praying.

On a much lighter note, the first day of spring was Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful. The hubby-to-be and me were able to get outside and enjoy it for awhile when all of a sudden I remembered after my 200th sneeze in a row that although the first day of spring means colorful flowers, sunshine, cool breezes, first excited sunburns for the year and upcoming Easter bunnies it also means that the ever elusive and evil pollen is just around the corner if not already burrowed deep into your nostrils. Being that I am allergic to 'outside' (I came up with that diagnosis myself after my allergy test came back positive for every plant, tree, and flower known in SC), it can be difficult at first to really enjoy the first onset of warm weather when you're blowing your nose every 5 seconds and trying not to sneeze on someone during a conversation. I do take my claritin, zyrtec, vitamin c, etc. and I do have a humidifier, but is it possible to utilize your a/c unit and vents as an entire house humidifier?? Just a thought.  I can't complain too much, I really do prefer my vehicle to just be a yellow traveling sneeze machine. Sike.

Second, if you didn't get to see the SUPER moon on Saturday it was pretty awesome as well. It was a lot bigger and very bright, but with all of the disastrous events occuring recently, it did cross my mind that the moon controls the tides and I got a little nervous. But, I am a worrier, that's why my friends call me whiskers......(you'll get it if you've seen the best of Will Ferrell on SNL). I do not put anything past mother nature these days. She has been strong arming everything. However, she does have a Creator that cannot be underestimated. I'll stop with that thought.

God Bless. G'night. Don't let the bed bugs bite (sick -- can anyone even say this anymore?).
xoxo

Kid n Play

Do you ever miss being a kid? I know I do. No worries, no deadlines, no important decisions to be made, no responsibility, no bills, but mostly just the thought of being able to have a goofy time and be silly without judgement or serious issues is what I miss. Sitting here with my fiance tonight reminded me of that. Just being funny together and laughing until my stomach hurts and tears come to my eyes is always my idea of a good Wednesday night.

But I am definitely still a kid at heart and I'm not just saying that. Here's proof:

1.  I eat spaghettios.  A lot.  Sometimes I "forget" to make dinner or am too "tired" to cook so that we can eat spaghettios. with meatballs of course. without = yucky.
2.  I'm afraid of the dark. Yes, I sleep in the dark of course, but I still get up in the middle of the night and picture my bathrobe as an evil old witch lady with a hump in her back and literally jump back into bed with the covers over my head.
3.  I LOVE games. My favorites are cranium, scategories, apples to apples, hide n seek and battleship.  And I am VERY competitive. I have been known to get rattled or even stomp my foot during a cranium game or two.  Ask around.
4.  I can't get enough Capri Sun or Lunchables. YUM.
5.  I can't watch scary movies. No, you don't understand, I CANNOT.  Ask anyone.
6.  I enjoy a good coloring book.
7.  Mad Libs are my idea of a good time on road trips.
8.  I have the attention span of a flea.
9.  I am extremely fond of fairytales and Disney movies. Don't get it twisted, I am a princess.
10.  I want my room to be pink again with my name on the wall, surrounded by teddy bears and Barbies.

Embarassing but True and Life Changing

This blog is dedicated to the one and only, Prince.  I don't want to scare you away but I am crazy for him - in a classy respectable way, of course. I would imagine I am not your usual everyday obsessive Prince fan, but nonetheless, he is my guilty pleasure and I love his music. Everyone has their favorite musician/song/band.  There are Parrotheads, Beliebers, and Dave Matthews followers that don't quit. But, there is nothing better than driving down the road with your windows down blaring 'Little Red Corvette' or 'Diamonds' and Pearls.  And it doesn't help that Purple Rain is...say it with me... the best song ever written and recorded in the whole world ever.

Listen, if a Prince song doesn't get your motor goin' I don't know what will, I mean, you must be a corpse or even worse too serious for your own good.  His songs just ooze passion, sexy, funky, the best beats and originality. He is a musical genius. Music nowadays does not even compare to his. Don't judge me - you know you secretly got fired up to a little 'Kiss' or '1999' in your hay day.

Well, Prince is coming to Charleston March 30, and yes my friends neither hurricane nor snow storm (?) nor speeding ticket will prevent me from screaming 'Purple Rain' from the top of my lungs LIVE. I have seen him one other time in Columbia with my poor willing friend Courtney who I dragged with me and she had a blast - well how can you not...it's PRINCE. Yes, he is old and his prime is behind us I'm sure, but he is still one of the best performers around and puts on a dang good show (i.e. AMAZING) even for the regular folks who aren't in love with him.  I think he is that celebrity for me that if I saw him up close and personal I would probably faint or throw up.

For your reading pleasure, here is a list of my top 10 Prince songs and my favorite line from each:

10.  U Got The Look - "Your face is jammin', your body's hecka-slammin'" - do lyrics get any better than that??

9.  1999 - "I got a lion in my pocket and baby he's ready to roar" - hahahaha

8.  Cream - "You're so cool, Everything you do is success, Make the rules, Then break them all cuz you are the best" - he knows me so well it's crazy.

7.  Raspberry Beret - "she wasn't 2 bright but I could tell when she kissed me she knew how 2 get her kicks" - such a romantical...sigh..swoon ;)

6.  Let's Go Crazy - "Look for the purple banana, 'til they put us in the truck, let's go" - huh? doesn't matter. awesome adrenaline pumping song.

5.  I Would Die 4 U - "make u happy when you're sad, make u good when u r bad" - who doesn't want that in a man??

4.  Little Red Corvette - "I say the ride is so smooooooooth, you must be a limousine". Ow ow! This song is dirtayyy and I heart it.

3.  Nothing Compares 2 U - such a powerful and beautiful ballad it hurts to pick one line.

2.  Diamonds and Pearls - "D to the I to the A to the M, O to the N to the D, to the pearls of love" -  a girls' best friend and a crazy beautiful song. I LOVE this song sooo much.

1.  PURPLE RAIN - "I never meant to cause you any sorrow.." Why is that my fave line you ask...cuz it's the first one and that means the song is just starting :)  Best cigarette-lighter funky rock ballad everrrrrr. Nothing can touch this song. I cried when I saw him play this live with his purple guitar. Embarrasing but true and life changing.

OK, I am off my Prince soap box. For now ;)

Sweet sexy purple dreams.

The Heart Times Three

I am about to introduce you to a world where few have been and less have witnessed - the adventures of three alarmingly different and precious Mexican dogs, a.k.a. chee wa wa's.  I'm certain it will prove to be profound and entertaining. You may not believe the shenanigans and facts that I about to share. Hold onto your chimichanga.

Let me preface this by saying that all three of these dogs are rescues and all three came together from all walks of life and very different upbringings. Lil' Bit fell into Jason's life a couple of years ago. Someone found her on the side of the road emaciated with ticks all over her.  Bella, I rescued from a shop in Conway. She misses her brother, but not her cage. Charlie is a special story and one of the best things to come into our lives.  These three teach us everyday that nothing is better than companionship, snuggling, love and plentiful food and water.

Lil Bit is the rat pack leader. She is one bad mamma jamma. She loves to rub her face in dead frogs, chase bugs (beetles are her favorite cuz they are fat and can't get away), bark like a maniac (she is, after all, our security system), chase anything that moves, snuggle up her smelly frog face into your neck, nip at "intruders'" heels (everyone is the enemy until she decides differently), and she will not eat any human food unless it is filet mignon. Seriously, she only eats Rachel Ray dog food because she doesn't have a choice and will not, I repeat, will nawtttt eat anything else, not even dog treats. She is afraid of vegetables, dresses, extension cords, candles, glade automatic spray, phones, and cameras. Her favorite things include riding shot gun in the car, being captain of the boat rides during the summer, playing hide and seek, snoring, and bullying Bella. She is the jam.

Bella is a mostly cheerful, fun-loving, and sweet dog except when she is a brat. She is one dog in need of therapy. I've actually emailed the dog whisperer twice because she needs him like whoa. She is a spoiled, fearful, hungry princess. She loves to play dress-up, but only, and I mean onlyyy, if it is specifically her pink princess dress that Lil' Bit tries to rip off of her. She enjoys sleeping, growling, eating, not running, slow-paced walking, the beach, and food, anyyyy food.  Her favorite is Cheerios and Doritos. Really, she loves any 'os. Cheetos and Fritos too. 'Boopy' has no tolerance for uncomfortable closeness. She appreciates alone time and her space.  I rarely get to hug her or lay down next to her without a small growl or sigh. She is the sweetest bitch I know. Grrrr I love her.

Charlie, ohhhh Charlie Pants.  He is named after Charlie Bucket from Willy Wonka because when he moved in with us from the hard knock streets, he got the golden ticket. Charlie Ann Rose was definitely an alley dumpster diving dog - he must've grown up with a pack of raccoons.  I can't tell you how many times he crawls into our trash cans and dirty clothes hampers and wants to live there. He is Pig Pen from Charlie Brown, he loves dirty and wants to be part of it at all times.  He is the biggest snugglebug and howls when he doesn't get attention.  He hollers bloody murder when we get home out of excitement and, I think, pure shock that we come home to him every day -- it truly makes my day. He is our little baby and we treat him like a real human baby. Oh Charlay monster, he is the best little runaway ever.

That is our family. Nothing will change it, our children will join them, not replace them. Please, adopt a pet today and give them a family and a home and not a cage or a back alley or even worse. Please get your pets fixed, there are too many in the kennels and cages now that won't live to see tomorrow because they are homeless and can't do anything about it. We can prevent that by being responsible pet owners and good mommy's and daddy's.

Below are some shelters in the area and an animal cruelty line. Nothing is better than an adopted furry friend, I can tell you from the heart times three :)

Eat a Burrito

We got our save the dates today from the printer and they will go out tomorrow!!!!! Ahhhh I am so happy with them!!! I can't believe how long it took for me to choose them. Everything else I've done thus far has been breezy because I knew what I wanted and always have. But there are sooooo many choices out there. I don't know how I am going to choose invitations which I have narrowed down to like 5. I mean, I don't even know how I chose a wedding dress (that comes in June 5th :) there has to be like a bizillion different styles out there. OK, not to be cliche but when I tried mine on, I just KNEW :) But, no wonder brides flip out.  I have already come so close to becoming a seriously scary and loco bride-to-be. But, then I remember oh yeah I'm marrying my best friend and this day is going to be over in like 2.2 seconds and we will have a whole lifetime of good times and memories ahead. But then the psycho devil on my shoulder is like OMGGGGGGG you have to do this and this and it has to be like this and then there's this and OMGGGG and that and OMG. And then I punch that devil in the face, take a tylenol, and eat a burrito.

Lastly, let me sum up some reality TV for a second:

1) American Idol -  Pia is the crap and you know it.  Casey is my little Ray Lamontagne and I want to listen to him every night by a fire and a glass of wine (or three). LOVE him.

2) Real Housewives of Miami = Lame. Hope it gets better. I only like Lea so far because she is fab and hangs out with hip-hop stars and that makes her gangster.

3) DWTS - Really?  Who crapped in the casting director's cheerios this season?? Who are these people this year and why did they ruin this show for me (Sorry, Kendra - kiss Lil' Hank for me xo).

4) Bethenny Ever After - Can she get any more awesomer?!!!? I want to be just like her minus the crazies. She is so witty and irresistable.  My mom texted me the other night and said that Bethenny's spirit reminded her of me. I will never erase that text.

5) So You Think You Can Dance? Best show EVER. When does it start back??? I need it. Like now.

6) Real Housewives of Orange County - HURRRRRRRRYYYYY back :)

7) Holly's World - I will never get sick of this show or Holly's crazy/irritating laugh or that ditzy Laura Croft weirdo. She is oddly lovable. And Jade can take her skank business and shove it ;)

8) Kourtney and Kim take New York - WHAT WAS WRONG WITH SHANGOOOO and why didn't Kim just marry the guy????? Australia is awesome, I would move there in a heartbeat!! And ps..Kourtney and Khloe are fun and should also be my best friends.

OK, Charlie is making this hard since he's laying on my face as I type this.

G'night! Sweet Shango dreams ;)

Our Little Secret

I received my beautiful slightly gaudy ring in the mail today from Ideeli!!! I love big jewelry, so there...blehh.   And I am an Ideeli-holic.  I obsessively check their website everyday.  Literally.  I especially love how they keep your credit card on file so when you check out with just a click of a button you don't even have time to hesitate or think about all the other things you could be buying like groceries or gas instead of another ring or my 231st dress to hang in my closet.

It also doesn't help that you have a shopping deadline. I am already a compulsive buyer.. I don't need a countdown lingering over my head to add even more pressure!!  But, what can I say, the deals are phenomenal and the brands are fetching.  Wait...why am I even promoting them..?!!?.. that's just more people I would have to compete with to buy an item.  Let's just keep it our little secret, ummkay? (PS...If anyone from http://www.ideeli.com/ sees this, you're welcome - and the answer is yes...I will accept a free gift card for an unlimited amount).

On another note, I am expecting another dress from Ideeli in one week ;) Score.

Random fact of the day:
Some people do NOT know how to drive at Market Common. FACTTTT.

When in Rome...

Sooo, I started this nutso blog thing.  I say that because I probably don't have the time to commit to this like a lot of people do, but I am going to give it a whirl, squirrel.  I actually think/hope it will be very therapeutic, relaxing, and detoxifying...sort of like yoga, but without the pain.

I had been thinking about doing it for awhile now (that's what she said - sorry) but wanted to wait until my life got sort of interesting.  I think I am there :) Not that it wasn't interesting before, but seriously who wants to read about what I ate for dinner and what my favorite celebrities are up to (Bethenny Frankel Hoppy and Katy Perry are just great btw) when I can discuss my sweet cooking skills (nope), my volunteering escapades, the shenanigans of living with your best friend, three hilarious and loving chihuahuas a.k.a 'The Rat Pack', a superb and mostly awesome group of friends and family and a refrigerator that dies frequently.  Which btw it died again yesterday and my fearless fiance is cleaning it out as I type this and trying not to gag....Mmmmm what's for supper?!  Looks like spaghettios.

But, most of all I wanted to publish the never ever boring slash incredible process of planning the "Most Ultimate Dream Wedding Ever" (in my super hero echo voice) without losing my mind (is that even possble? Don't answer that).  SO, I am jumping on the blogging bandwagon because as Ron Burgundy would say "When in Rome..." right??  Moscato is calling my name - Ciao!
